1: Dial a Simple IMEI Number Check Code

This is the easiest and fastest way to check your IMEI number. You don’t need any app or setting. Just a simple IMEI number check code you can dial, and your phone will show the IMEI instantly.

Here’s how to do it:

• Open the dialer on your phone
• Now type this code: *#06#
• As soon as you type the last symbol, you don’t need to press the call button. Your phone will automatically show a pop-up with your IMEI number.

What Will You See?

• If your phone has only one SIM slot, you’ll see one IMEI number.
• If your phone has two SIM slots, you’ll see two IMEI numbers (IMEI 1 and IMEI 2). That’s completely normal.

2: Check IMEI Number from Phone Settings

If the IMEI code doesn’t work, or if you just want to double-check the number, you can also find your IMEI directly from your phone’s settings. This method works whether your phone has a SIM card or not.

Let me show you exactly how to do it.

How to Check IMEI Number on Android

• Unlock your phone and go to the Settings app.
• Scroll down and tap on About phone, or sometimes it may say About device.
• Here, you’ll see different details about your phone. Look for something called IMEI or IMEI information.
• If your phone supports two SIMs, you’ll see IMEI 1 and IMEI 2 listed separately.

Some phones may also show the serial number right there, but don’t confuse that with IMEI.

This method a reliable IMEI number check for Android brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, OnePlus, Motorola, and others.

How to Get IMEI Number on iPhone

• Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
• Tap on General and then tap on About.
• Now scroll down, and you’ll see your IMEI number right there.
• If you’re using a dual SIM iPhone (eSIM + physical SIM), you’ll see two IMEIs.

If you couldn’t find it through settings, don’t worry. There are still more methods you can try, even if your phone is switched off or not with you right now.

3: Check IMEI on the Phone Box

Let’s say your phone is not with you right now, or maybe it’s switched off, lost, or stolen. Don’t worry, you can still find your IMEI number if you have the original phone box.

Where Is IMEI Number Present on the Mobile Box

Take the phone box and look closely at the bottom side or one of the sides of the box. You’ll see a white sticker or label printed with a few details like:

• Model name
• Serial number
• Barcodes
• And… your IMEI number

If your phone supports two SIMs, the label will show IMEI 1 and IMEI 2.

The IMEI will usually look like this:

IMEI1: 358***********

IMEI2: 358***********

4: Check IMEI on Your Purchase Invoice/Bill

If you don’t have your phone in hand and can’t find the box either, there’s still another place where your IMEI number might be saved, and that’s your purchase invoice or bill.

• Check the top or bottom part of the bill where the phone’s details are listed
• Look for a line that says IMEI, IMEI No., or IMEI Number
• You might also see it written just below the phone’s serial number or model code
• If it’s a dual SIM phone, both IMEI 1 and IMEI 2 may be mentioned.

If you purchased your phone online, check the order summary or account section, many e-commerce platforms allow IMEI number check online via order details.

In fact, Some users even try IMEI tracker online tools, though you should always use government-approved ones like the CEIR tracking portal.

You can track stolen phone, lock your phone remotely, or even report it via CEIR registration and CEIR helpline number for quick action.

What to Do If IMEI Is Not Showing or Missing?

So, you tried to check your phone’s IMEI number, but it didn’t show up? Or maybe it says "null" or "not available" or just shows a blank? Here’s exactly what you can do step-by-step to fix it.

Step 1: Restart Your Phone First

This is the first thing you should try.

• Just press and hold the power button on your phone
• Tap “Restart” or “Reboot.”
• Wait for your phone to turn on again
• Now try checking the IMEI again by dialing *#06#

Sometimes the number shows up after restarting. If it still doesn’t, go to the next step.

Step 2: Check Inside the Phone Settings

Here’s how you can find it in the settings:

• Open your phone’s Settings app
• Scroll down and tap on About Phone
• Now tap on Status
• Look for IMEI – it should be there

Step 3: If Still Missing – Go to the Brand's Service Center

If the IMEI number is not showing anywhere, not even printed on the phone, then the issue might be serious.

It can happen due to:

• Wrong system update
• Phone being flashed/rooted
• Or sometimes the phone is cloned or tampered with

Now don’t try to fix this on your own.
